after war back from kargil
"Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I've a favor to ask. I have a friend
I'd like to bring home with me."
"Sure," they replied, "we'd love to meet him."
"There's something you should know the son continued, "he was hurt
pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mind & lost an arm
and a
leg. He has nowhere else to go, & I want him to come live with us."
"I'm sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere to
live."
"No, Mom & Dad, I want him to live with us."
"Son," said the father, "you don't know what you're asking. Someone
with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We've our own
lives to live, & we can't let something like this interfere with our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about this guy. He'll find a way to live on his own."
At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard nothing
more from him. A few days later, however, they received a call from the
J&K police. Their son had died after falling from a building, they were
told. The police believed it was suicide. The grief-stricken parents
flew to Sri Nagar and were taken to the city morgue to identify the
body of their son. They recognized him, but to their horror they also
discovered something they didn't know, their son had only one arm and
one leg.
The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to love
those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don't like
people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable. We would
rather stay away from people who aren't as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are. Thankfully, there's someone who won't treat us that way. Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how messed up we are.
Best One..
A jobless man applied for the position of 'office boy' at Microsoft.
The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test.
'You are employed.'
He said.' Give me your e-mail address and I'll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start.'
The man replied 'But I don't have a computer, neither an email..'
I'm sorry', said the HR manager, 'If you don't have an email, that means you do not exist. And who doesn't exist, cannot have the job.'
The man left with no hope at all. He didn't know what to do, with only $10 in his pocket. He then decided to go to the supermarket and buy a 10Kg tomato crate.
He then sold the tomatoes in a door to door round. In less than two hours, he succeeded to double his capital. He repeated the Operation 3 times, and returned home with $60. The man realized that he can survive by this Way, and started to go everyday earlier, and return late. Thus, his money doubled or tripled every day. Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles.
5 years later, the man is one of the biggest food retailers in the US .. He started to plan his family's future, and decided to have a life insurance.. He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan. When the conversation was concluded, the broker asked him his email. The man replied, 'I don't have an email'. The broker answered curiously, 'You don't have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an email?!!'
The man thought for a while and replied, 'Yes, I'd be an office boy at Microsoft!'
a golden box full of kisses
money was tight, and he became even more upset when the child pasted the gold paper so as to decorate a box to put under the christmas tree.
nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift box to her father the next morning and said,
"this is for you, daddy."
the father was embarrassed by his earlier over reaction, but his anger flared again when he found the box was empty. he spoke to her in a harsh manner, "don't you know, young lady, when you give someone a present there's supposed to be something inside the package?".
the little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and said, "daddy, it's not empty. i blew kisses into it until it was full."
the father was crushed....
he fell on his knees and put his arms around his little girl, and he begged her to forgive him for his unnecessary anger. an accident took the life of the child only a short time later, and it is told that the father kept that gold box by his bed for all the years of his life. and whenever he was discouraged or faced difficult problems, he would open the box and take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there.
Moral of the story is...
in a very real sense, each of us as human beings have been given a golden box filled with unconditional love from our children, family. there is no more precious possession anyone could hold.
if we can't change our fate, lets change our attitude.
Height of Effective Communication
Max replies, "Why don't you ask the Priest?"
So Jack goes up to the Priest and asks, "Priest, may I smoke while I pray?"
But the Priest says, "No, my son, you may not. That's utter disrespect to our religion."
Jack goes back to his friend and tells him what the good Priest told him.
Max says, "I'm not surprised. You asked the wrong question. Let me try."
And so Max goes up to the Priest and asks, "Priest, may I pray while I smoke?"
To which the Priest eagerly replies, "By all means, my son. By all means."
Moral : The reply you get depends on the question you ask.
For Example : Can I work on this project while I'm on vacation ?!?!

few facts abt HIV virus
* HIV can *never survive in any other liquid* medium also other than blood or semen (& please for God sake ... never in Pani Puri wala pani)
* Even if one drinks an HIV infected blood (or semen) of someone (ingest through Gastro Intestinal track), the virus can not survive in the acidic pH of stomach*. Highest extent of acidity is 0 (practically not
possible) so imagine 1 as pH which is in our stomach. (This pH can burn your own finger in less than a second if you dip in that acid).
* Exposure of less than 1 second in AIR KILLS the HIV virus*(hence story of needle pricks in Cinema theatres is a crap). Even if blood from a wound (of infected person) dries up (*blood clot*), *the virus dies*and can not infect anyone else
* HIV transmission is *ONLY* an *INFECTION* i.e.entrance of virus in one's body. It *DOES NOT MEAN AIDS*.
* An HIV-infected person (after entrance of virus) can progress to a condition of AIDS only after *8 to 10 YEARS *(not in 15 days as in the Pani Puri story)
* It is *not HIV (virus) that kills a human* .....the virus attacks immune cells (cells that fight against foreign pathogens/antigens) and hence a person's ability to fight against infections & diseases slowly diminishes and person ultimately dies of a disease which could be as simple as TB
* Most importantly, HIV is no longer a dreadful disease ... it is "*CHRONIC MANAGEABLE DISEASE*" just like Diabetes or Hypertension.
* If there is anything you need to be careful from to prevent HIV is Unsafe sex*, *Blood transfusion* (check before taking) /Blood donation (use sterilized needles only) and any *blood contact during an accident *or so where amount of bleeding is very high.

DOES RACISM STILL EXIST. YOU BE THE JUDGE, READ TI
This scene took place on a British Airways flight between Johannesburg , South Africa & London.
A white woman, about 50 years old, was seated next to a black man.
Very disturbed by this, she called the air hostess. "You obviously do not see it then?" she asked. "You placed me next to a black man. I did not agree to sit next to someone from such a repugnant group. Give me an alternative seat."
"Be calm please," the hostess replied.
"Almost all the places on this flight are taken. I will go to see if another place is available."
The hostess went away & then came back a few minutes later.
"Madam, just as I thought, there are no other available seats in Economy Class.
I spoke to the captain & he informed me that there is also no seat in Business Class. All the same, we still have one place in First Class."
Before the woman could say anything, the hostess continued.
"It is not usual for our company to permit someone from Economy Class to sit in First Class. However, given the circumstances, the captain feels that it would be scandalous to make someone sit next to someone so disgusting."
The Hostess turned to the black guy, & said, "Therefore, Sir, if you would like to, please collect your hand luggage, a seat awaits you in First Class."
At that moment, the other passengers, who'd been shocked by what they had just witnessed, stood up & applauded..
WELL DONE, British Airways
Father : "I want you to marry a girl of my choice"
Son : "I will choose my own bride!"
Father : "But the girl is Bill Gates's daughter."
Son : "Well, in that case...ok"
Next - Father approaches Bill Gates.
Father : "I have a husband for your daughter."
Bill Gates : "But my daughter is too young to marry!"
Father : "But this young man is a vice-president of the World Bank."
Bill Gates : "Ah, in that case...ok"
Finally Father goes to see the president of the World Bank.
Father : "I have a young man to be recommended as a vice-president."
President : "But I already have more vice- presidents than I need!"
Father : "But this young man is Bill Gates's son-in-law."
President : "Ah, in that case...ok"
This is how business is done!!
Moral: Even If you have nothing,You can get Anything. But your ATTITUDE should be positive..
Which Am I?
Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water. In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs and the last, ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil without saying a word. In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what do you see?"
"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.
She brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. The daughter did and noted that they were soft.
She then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg.
Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled, as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked. "What's the point, mother?" Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity - boiling water - but each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak.
The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened.
The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water they had changed the water.
"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?"
Think of this: Which am I?
Our Expectations
Then they discovered they had forgotten the salt. A picnic without salt would be a disaster, they all agreed. After a lengthy discussion, the youngest turtle was chosen to retrieve the salt from home. Although he was the fastest of the slow moving turtles, the little turtle whined, cried, and wobbled in his shell.
He agreed to go on one condition: that no one would eat until he returned. The family consented and the little turtle left. Three years passed and the little turtle had not returned. Five years â Six years... Then in the seventh year of his absence, the oldest turtle could no longer contain his hunger. He announced that he was going to eat and began to unwrap a sandwich. At that point the little turtle suddenly popped out from behind a tree shouting, "SEE I knew you wouldn't wait. Now I am not going to go get the salt."
Lesson Learned:
Some of us waste our time waiting for people to live up to our expectations. We are so concerned about what others are doing that we don't do anything ourselves.
THE GAME IS OVER
"This is the dumbest kid in the world. Watch while I prove it to you."
The barber puts a five rupee coin in one hand and two one rupee coins(1+1=2) in the other, then calls the boy over and asks,
"Which do you want, son?"
The boy takes the two one rupee coins and leaves.
"What did I tell you?" said the barber. "That kid never learns!"
Later, when the customer leaves, he sees the same young boy coming out of the ice cream store. "Hey, son! May I ask you a question?
Why did you take two one rupee coins instead of five rupee coin?"
The boy licked his cone and replied,
"Because THE DAY I TAKE THE FIVE RUPEE COIN, THE GAME IS OVER
Moral : When you think the other person is dumb, you are making a fool of yourself..
where r u right now?
A mother and a baby camel were lazing around, and suddenly the baby camel asked....
Baby: Why do camels have humps?
Mother: Well son, we are desert animals, we need the humps to store water and we are known to survive without water.
Baby: Okay, then why are our legs long and our feet rounded?
Mother: Son, obviously they are meant for walking in the desert, You know with these legs I can move around the desert better than anyone does! Said the mother proudly.
Baby: Okay, then why are our eyelashes long? Sometimes it bothers my sight.
Mother: My son, those long thick eyelashes are your protective cover. They help to protect your eyes from the desert sand and wind. Said mother camel with eyes rimming with pride....
Baby: I see. So the hump is to store water when we are in the desert, the legs are for walking through the desert and these eyelashes protect my eyes from the desert...
Then what the hell are we doing here in the Zzzoooooo!
MORAL OF THE STORY IS:
"Skills, knowledge, abilities and experiences are only useful if you are at the right place"
(Where are you right now????????)
Just 5 more minutes...
"He's a fine looking boy," the lady said. "That's my son on the swing in the blue sweater." Then, looking at her watch, she called to his son. "What do you say we go, mitchell?"
Mitchell pleaded, "Just five more minutes, Mummy. Please? Just five more minutes." The lady nodded and Mitchell continued to swing to his heart's content.
Minutes passed and the mother stood and called again to her son. "Time to go now?" Again Mitchell pleaded, "Five more minutes, Mum. Just five more minutes." The lady smiled and said, "O.K."
"My, you certainly are a patient mother," the woman responded.
The lady smiled and then said, "My older son William was killed in a road accident last year while he was riding his bike near here. I never spent as much time with William as I could have, and now I'd give anything for just five more minutes with him. I've vowed not to make the same mistake with Mitchell. He thinks he has five more minutes to swing. The truth is, I get five more minutes to watch him play."
Moral: treasure every nano second of your life with your loved ones. who has seen tomorrow !
The problem
A man feared his wife wasn't hearing as well as she used to and he thought she might need a hearing aid. Not quite sure how to approach her, he called the family Doctor to discuss the problem. The Doctor told him there is a simple informal test the husband could perform to give the Doctor a better idea about her hearing loss.
Here's what you do," said the Doctor, "stand about 40 feet away from her, and in a normal conversational speaking tone see if she hears you.
If not, go to 30 feet, then 20 feet, and s o on until you get a response."
That evening, the wife is in the kitchen cooking dinner, and he was in the den. He says to himself, "I'm about 40 feet away, let's see What happens."
Then in a normal tone he asks, 'Honey, what's for dinner?"
No response.
So the husband moves to closer to the kitchen, about 30 feet from his
wife and repeats, "Honey, what's for dinner?"
Still no response.
Next he moves into the dining room where he is about 20 feet from his
wife and asks, Honey, what's for dinner?"
Again he gets no response so,
He walks up to the kitchen door, about 10 feet away. "Honey, what's for dinner?"
Again there is no response.
So he walks right up behind her. "Honey, what's for dinner?"
Her wife said...
James, for the FIFTH time I've said, CHICKEN
Moral of the Story:
The problem may not be with the other one as we always think, could be very much within us..!
Moral Of The Story........... put the glass down...
A professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it.
He held it up for all to see; asked the students, 'How much do you think this glass weighs?'
'50gms!' .... '100gms!' ......'125gms' ......the students answered.
'I really don't know unless I weigh it' said the professor, 'but, my question is: What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes?'
'Nothing' the students said.
'Ok what would happen if I held it up like this for an hour?' the professor asked.
'Your arm would begin to ache' said one of the students.
'You're right, now what would happen if I held it for a day?'
'Your arm could go numb, you might have severe muscle stress; paralysis'
'Have to go to hospital for sure!' ventured another student; all the students laughed.
'Very good. But during all this, did the weight of the glass change?' asked the professor.
'No' the students said.
'Then what caused the arm ache & the muscle stress?'
The students were puzzled.
'holding the glass for long!' said one of the students.
'Exactly!' said the professor. 'Life's problems are something like this. Hold it for a few minutes in your head; they seem OK.
Think of them for a long time & they begin to ache. Hold it even longer & they begin to paralyze you. You will not be able to do anything.
It's important to think of the challenges (problems) in your life, but EVEN MORE IMPORTANT to 'put them down' at the end of every day before you go to sleep.
That way, you are not stressed, you wake up every day fresh & strong & can handle any issue, any challenge that comes your way!'
Remember to PUT THE GLASS DOWN TODAY!
Principles of life
* You would achieve more, if you don't mind who gets the credit.
* When everything else is lost, the future stillremains.
* Don't fight too much. Or the enemy would know your art of war .
* The only job you start at the top is when you dig a grave.
* If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for everything.
* If you do little things well, you'll do big ones better.
* Only thing that comes to you without effort is old age.
* You won't get a second chance to make the first impression .
* Only those who do nothing do not make mistakes.
* Never take a problem to your boss unless you have a solution.
* If you are not failing you're not taking enough risks.
* Don't try to get rid of bad temper by losing it.
* If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
* Those who don't make mistakes usually don't make anything
* There are two kinds of failures. Those who think and never do, and those who do and never think.
* Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win.
* All progress has resulted from unpopular decisions.
* Change your thoughts and you change your world.
* Understanding proves intelligence, not the speed of the learning.
* There are two kinds of fools in this world. Those who give advise and those who don't take it.
* The best way to kill an idea is to take it to a meeting.
* Management is doing things right. Leadership is doing the right things.
* Friendship founded on business is always better than business founded on friendship.
One paragraph that explains life!
Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS which he got due to infected blood he received during a heart surgery in 1983. From world over, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed: "Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease"?
To this Arthur Ashe replied: The world over -- 5 crore children start playing tennis, 50 lakh learn to play tennis, 5 lakh learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the grand slam, 50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, 2 to the finals, When I was holding a cup I never asked GOD "Why me?". And today in pain I should not be asking GOD "Why me?"
Happiness keeps u Sweet, Trials keep u Strong, Sorrow keeps u Human, Failure Keeps u Humble, Success keeps u Glowing, But only God Keeps u Going...
Keep Going...
The Donkey lesson
Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.
At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly.
Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing.
He would shake it off and take a step up.
As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.
Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1.Free your heart from hatred-Forgive.
2.Free your mind from worries-Most never happen.
3.Live simply and appreciate what you have.
4.Give more.
5.Expect less
NOW --------
Enough of that crap . . .
The donkey later came back and bit the farmer who had tried to bury him. The gash from the bite got infected, and the farmer eventually died in agony from septic shock.
MORAL FROM TODAY'S LESSON:
When you do something wrong and try to cover your *ss, it always comes back to bite you.
I felt so Lonely
When I look at this stary night
And I don't even want to dream
about the broad daylight
Oh ! How peaceful the night is
I can hear my heart crying out
It longs for someone
Who can hear me in this lonely night
Someone, to whom I can open my heart to
Someone, with whom i can share my pain
Someone , who will be besides me
Whenever, it starts to blow the winds of change
I close my eyes and try to listen
A soft murmur that can bring peace within
Perhaps, a true friend can fill this emptiness inside me
Or so I think that's how it is going to be
I think about the past and I don't want to lie
But my past .. brings a tear to my eye
Let me stay this way for a little while
Maybe, I can find solace in this night sky
This will change one day , I know
'Coz then ... Nobody would just walk in
And go........
Perhaps that's my fate to stay alone .......
9/11 Whatever that happens in life, happens for good.....
Whatever that happens in life, happens for good.....so stop worrying about the future and forget the past.....Just Focus on your PRESENT...
After Sept. 11th, one company invited the remaining members of other companies who had been decimated by the attack on the Twin Towers to share their available office space. At a morning meeting, the head of security told stories of why these people were alive, and all the stories were just the 'L I T T L E' things .
As you might know, the head of the company survived that day because his son started kindergarten.
Another fellow was alive because it was his turn to bring donuts.
One woman was late because her alarm clock didn't go off in time.
One of them missed his bus.> One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change.
One's car wouldn't start.
One went back to answer the telephone.
One had a child that dawdled and didn't get ready as soon as he should have.> One couldn't get a taxi.
The one that struck everyone was the man who put on a new pair of shoes that morning, took the various means to get to work but before he got there, he developed a blister on his foot. He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid. That is why he is alive today.
Now when I am stuck in traffic, miss an elevator, turn back to answer a ringing telephone......... all the little things that annoy me. I think to myself, this is exactly where God wants me to be at this very moment... Next time your LIFE seems to be going wrong, the children are slow getting dressed, you can't seem to find the car keys, you hit every> traffic light, don't get mad or frustrated.
" God is at work, watching over you.
Inaugural Speech at the Symbiosis Pune 23rd June, 2008 : By Chetan Bhagat.
Good Morning everyone and thank you for giving me this chance to speak to
you. This day is about you. You, who have come to this college, leaving the
comfort of your homes (or in some cases discomfort), to become something in
your life. I am sure you are excited. There are few days in human life
when one is truly elated. The first day in college is one of them. When
you were getting ready today, you felt a tingling in your stomach. What
would the auditorium be like, what would the teachers be like, who are my
new classmates - there is so much to be curious about. I call this
excitement, the spark within you that makes you feel truly alive today.
Today I am going to talk about keeping the spark shining. Or to put it
another way, how to be happy most, if not all the time.
Where do these sparks start? I think we are born with them. My 3-year old
twin boys have a million sparks. A little Spiderman toy can make them
jump on the bed. They get thrills from creaky swings in the park. A story
from daddy gets them excited. They do a daily countdown for birthday party
– several months in advance – just for the day they will cut their own
birthday cake.
I see students like you, and I still see some sparks. But when I see
older people, the spark is difficult to find. That means as we age, the
spark fades. People whose spark has faded too much are dull, dejected,
aimless and bitter. Remember Kareena in the first half of Jab We Met vs
the second half? That is what happens when the spark is lost. So how to
save the spark?
Imagine the spark to be a lamp's flame. The first aspect is nurturing -
to give your spark the fuel, continuously. The second is to guard against
storms. To nurture, always have goals. It is human nature to strive,
improve and achieve full potential. In fact, that is success. It is what
is possible for you. It isn't any external measure - a certain cost to
company pay package, a particular car or house.
Most of us are from middle class families. To us, having material landmarks
is success and rightly so.When you have grown up where money constraints
force everyday choices, financial freedom is a big achievement. But it
isn't the purpose of life. If that was the case, Mr. Ambani would not show
up for work.Shah Rukh Khan would stay at home and not dance anymore. Steve
Jobs won't be working hard to make a better iPhone, as he sold Pixar for
billions of dollars already. Why do they do it? What makes them come to
work everyday? They do it because it makes them happy. They do it because
it makes them feel alive. Just getting better from current levels
feels good.
If you study hard, you can improve your rank. If you make an
effort to interact with people, you will do better in interviews. If you
practice, your cricket will get better. You may also know that you cannot
become Tendulkar, yet. But you can get to the next level. Striving for that
next level is important. Nature designed with a random set of genes and
circumstances in which we were born. To be happy, we have to accept it and
make the most of nature's design. Are you? Goals will help you do that.
I must add, don't just have career or academic goals. Set goals to give you
a balanced, successful life. I use the word balanced before successful.
Balanced means ensuring your health, relationships, mental peace are all in
good order. There is no point of getting a promotion on the day of your
breakup. There is no fun in driving a car if your back hurts. Shopping is
not enjoyable if your mind is full of tensions.
You must have read some quotes - Life is a tough race, it is a marathon
or whatever. No, from what I have seen so far, life is one of those
races in nursery school, where you have to run with a marble in a spoon
kept in your mouth. If the marble falls, there is no point coming first.
Same with life, where health and relationships are the marble. Your
striving is only worth it if there is harmony in your life. Else, you may
achieve the success, but this spark, this feeling of being excited and
alive, will start to die.
One last thing about nurturing the spark - don't take life seriously. One
of my yoga teachers used to make students laugh during classes. One student
asked him if these jokes would take away something from the yoga
practice. The teacher said - don't be serious, be sincere. This quote
has defined my work ever since. Whether its my writing, my job, my
relationships or any of my goals. I get thousands of opinions on my
writing everyday. There is heaps of praise, there is intense criticism. If
I take it all seriously, how will I write? Or rather, how will I live?
Life is not to be taken seriously, as we are really temporary here. We are
like a pre-paid card with limited validity. If we are lucky, we may
last another 50 years. And 50 years is just 2,500 weekends. Do we really
need to get so worked up? It's ok, bunk a few classes, goof up a few
interviews, fall in love. We are people, not programmed devices.
I've told you three things - reasonable goals, balance and not taking it
too seriously that will nurture the spark. However, there are four storms
in life that will threaten to completely put out the flame. These must
be guarded against. These are disappointment, frustration, unfairness and
loneliness of purpose.
Disappointment will come when your effort does not give you the
expected return. If things don't go as planned or if you face
failure.Failure is extremely difficult to handle, but those that do come
out stronger. What did this failure teach me? is the question you will
need to ask. You will feel miserable. You will want to quit, like I
wanted to when nine publishers rejected my first book. Some IITians
kill themselves over low grades – how silly is that? But that is how
much failure can hurt you. But it's life. If challenges could always be
overcome, they would cease to be a challenge. And remember - if you are
failing at something, that means you are at your limit or potential. And
that's where you want to be.
Disappointment's cousin is frustration, the second storm. Have you ever
been frustrated? It happens when things are stuck. This is especially
relevant in India . From traffic jams to getting that job you deserve,
sometimes things take so long that you don't know if you chose the right
goal. After books, I set the goal of writing for Bollywood, as I thought
they needed writers. I am called extremely lucky, but it took me five
years to get close to a release.
Frustration saps excitement, and turns your initial energy into
something negative, making you a bitter person. How did I deal with it?
A realistic assessment of the time involved – movies take a long time to
make even though they are watched quickly, seeking a certain enjoyment
in the process rather than the end result – at least I was learning how
to write scripts, having a side plan – I had my third book to write
and even something as simple as pleasurable distractions in your life -
friends, food, travel can help you overcome it.
Remember, nothing is to be taken seriously. Frustration is a sign somewhere, you
took it too seriously.
Unfairness - this is hardest to deal with, but unfortunately that is how
our country works. People with connections, rich dads, beautiful faces,
pedigree find it easier to make it – not just in Bollywood, but
everywhere. And sometimes it is just plain luck. There are so few
opportunities in India , so many stars need to be aligned for you to make
it happen. Merit and hard work is not always linked to achievement in
the short term, but the long term correlation is high, and ultimately
things do work out. But realize, there will be some people luckier than
you. In fact, to have an opportunity to go to college and understand this
speech in English means you are pretty damm lucky by Indian standards.
Let's be grateful for what we have and get the strength to accept what
we don't. I have so much love from my readers that other writers cannot
even imagine it. However, I don't get literary praise. It's ok
I don't look like Aishwarya Rai, but I have two boys who I think are
more beautiful than her. It's ok. Don't let unfairness kill your spark.
Finally, the last point that can kill your spark is isolation. As you
grow older you will realize you are unique. When you are little, all kids
want Ice cream and Spiderman. As you grow older to college, you still are
a lot like your friends. But ten years later and you realize you are
unique. What you want, what you believe in, what makes you feel, may be
different from even the people closest to you. This can create conflict
as your goals may not match with others. And you may drop some of them.
Basketball captains in college invariably stop playing basketball by the
time they have their second child. They give up something that meant
so much to them. They do it for their family. But in doing that, the
spark dies. Never, ever make that compromise. Love yourself first, and then
others.
There you go. I've told you the four thunderstorms -
disappointment, frustration, unfairness and isolation. You cannot
avoid them, as like the monsoon they will come into your life at regular
intervals. You just need to keep the raincoat handy to not let the spark
die. I welcome you again to the most wonderful years of your life. If
someone gave me the choice to go back in time, I will surely choose
college. But I also hope that ten years later as well, your eyes will
shine the same way as they do today. That you will Keep the Spark alive,
not only through college, but through the next 2,500 weekends. And I hope
not just you, but my whole country will keep that spark alive, as we
really need it now more than any moment in history. And there is something
cool about saying - I come from the land of a billion sparks.
Thank You!

Lonliness
But now has taken resident
The events that lead to the vacancy
Was not seen my her love
Push and shove she does remain
Knowing some day she will go insane
Refraining from her departure
Hopeless romantic can you not see
Holding on to loves last strand
Sands of time fallen down
Her crown of freedom awaits her
Only if she could be sure
Is it right to flee
To sail away from her sorrows
Hopeless romantic in need of reprieve
A spell of love is what she is after
A potion to return her love
A seer’s mix to be her fix
An elixir to transfix his cold heart
Oh hopeless romantic what shall it be
Notions for such a useless potion
Consume her every emotion
The desire to return loves fire
Renders her helpless to reality
Nonetheless her endeavor shall remain
Forever shall it be
Hopeless romantic who needs to see

Touching life story.....
A young man was getting ready to graduate college. For
many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's
showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told
him that was all he wanted.
As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited
signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the
morning of his graduation his father called him into his private
study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine
son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son
a beautiful wrapped gift box.
Curious, but somewhat disappointed the young man
opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible. Angrily,
he raised his voice at his father and said, "With all your money you
give me a Bible?" and stormed out of the house, leaving the holy
book.
Many years passed and the young man was very successful in
business.
He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his
father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He
had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make
arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had
passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He
needed to come home immediately and take care things.
When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and
regret filled his heart.
He began to search his father's important papers and
saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With
tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. As he
read those words, a car key dropped from an envelope
taped behind the Bible.
It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the
sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation,
and the words...PAID IN FULL.
How many times do we miss God's blessings because they are not
packaged as we expected?
They say love is...........
they say time can heal the pain
sometimes you win, sometimes you lose
and i gess its just a fool
i keep holding on to you
i told you once you were the one
you know that i die for you
oh i will hurts to see you go
oh this time you should know
i won't try to stop you
dont you forget about me baby
dont you forget about me now
some day you'll turn around and ask me,
why did i let you go
so you try to freak a smile
you dont wanna break my heart
i can see that you're afraid
but baby its to late
coz i'm already diying
dont you forget about me baby
dont you forget about me now
some day you'll turn around and ask me,
why did i let you go
If I could catch a rainbow...........
I would do it just for you,
And share with you its beauty
The days you’re feeling blue.
If I could build a mountain
You could call it your very own.
A place to find serenity,
A place to be alone.
If I could take your troubles
I would toss them in the sea,
But all these things I’m finding
Are impossible for me.
I cannot build you a mountain
Or catch you a rainbow fair,
But let me be what I do best,
A friend that’s always there.

Easy is to judge the mistakes of others
Difficult is to recognize our own mistakes
Easy is to talk without thinking
Difficult is to refrain the tongue
Easy is to hurt someone who loves us.
Difficult is to heal the wound...
Easy is to forgive others
Difficult is to ask for forgiveness
Easy is to set rules.
Difficult is to follow them...

Maine dil se kaha, dhoond laana khushi
Nasamajh laya gum, to yeh gum hi sahi
Maine dil se kaha, dhoond laana khushi
Nasamajh laya gum, to yeh gum hi sahi
Maine dil se kaha dhoond laana khushi
Bechaara kahan jaanta tha
Khalish hai yeh kya khala hai
Shehar bhar ki khushi se
Yeh dard mera bhala hai
Jashna yeh raaz na aaye
Mazaa toh bas gam main aaya hai
Maine dil se kaha, dhoond laana khushi
Nasamajh laya gum, to yeh gum hi sahi
Kabhi hai ishq ka ujaala
Kabhi hai maut ka andhera
Bataao kaun bes hoga
Main jogi banu ya lutera
Kayi chehre hai is dil ke
Najaane kaunsa mera
Maine dil se kaha dhoond laana khushi
Nasamajh laya gum, to yeh gum hi sahi
Hazaaron aaise phaasle the
Jo Tai karne chale the
raahe magar chal padi thi
Aur peeche hum rah gaye the
kadam Do chaar chal paaye
Kiye phere tere mann ke
Maine dil se kaha, dhoond laana khushi
Nasamajh laya gum, to yeh gum hi sahi
Maine dil se kaha, dhoond laana khushi
Nasamajh laya gum, to yeh gum hi sahi
yeh hai meri kahani
khamosh zindagani
sannata keh raha hai
kyun zulm seh raha hai
ek dastaan purani
tanhayi ki zubani
her zakham khil raha hai
kuch mujh se keh raha hai
chubtay kantay yadoon ke daaman say chunta hoon
girti deewaron ke aanchal mai zinda hoon
bass yeh meri kahani
benishaan nishaani
ek darr beh raha hai
kuch mujh se keh raha hai
chubtay kaanten yadoon ke daaman se chunta hoon
girti deewaron ke aanchal mein zinda hoon

Why has my heart become so lonely?
Why does my soul remain unhappy?
After coming out of the darkness
Life has not treated me fairly
For such words from a foolish mouth
Such words which has no bounds
Oh sky, tell me please
What has happened?
Oh lord, tell me please
What is my crime?

Meri Zindagi Me Lagta Hai Ki Rona Hi Likha Hai
khuda ne meri zindagi me kya kya likha hai
bas lagta hai ki rona hi likha hai
zindagi me har pal milta raha hai koi gam
par ab to gam hi zindagi ban chuki hai
kya us malik ne khusi ka bhi koi pal likha hai
bas lagta hai umar bhar rona hi likha hai
dino ka sukun cheenkar diya hai raaton ka sunapan
jab bhi khawhish ki mahfil ki mila tanhaion ka darpan
kya us rab ne sapno ko bhi likha hain kahin
bas lagta hai umar bhar rona hi likha hai
aankhon main aaye aansun to dard ka bayan kar dete hai
par ye ruki hui sansen to maut ka ehsah krati hai
kya usne kahin aansun poochne wala bhi likha hai kahin
bas lagta hai umar bhar rona hi likha hai
pahle to musibaton se darkar kinare par khade rah jaate the
ab to dusron ka gam uthakar beech dariya chale jaate hain
kya hmari zindagi main bas dubte rahna hi likha

Painted by only one person
LIFE itself.
The picture shows everything
you're doing
And everything you have done.
But sometimes
Life gets TIRED
And doesn't want to paint a picture.
So, Life sends PROBLEMS to stop you
If you give up, your picture is finished.
If you keep going, so does your picture.
So the question is:
How soon do you want to see your picture?
Do you want to see it now?
When it could be so much more?
Or later, when there's so much more than before?
It's your choice
I'LL KEEP GOING............!!!
*but you're still here...
Before you slip into unconsciousness.......
I’d like to have another kiss.....
Another flashing chance at bliss
Another kiss, another kiss
The days are bright and filled with pain
Enclose me in your gentle rain
The time you ran was too insane
We’ll meet again, we’ll meet again
Oh tell me where your freedom lies
The streets are fields that never die
Deliver me from reasons why
You’d rather cry, I’d rather fly...
howz it
a flutter in my heart
happiness like never before
thats what i feel when i see you!
one smile in your face
wipes away the frown on my face
heart beating once alone
now finds home in the arms of a special someone
as i wind along the roads
travelling like a woman on a mission
leaving behind the empty and sad faces
that line up after a hard day’s work
passion beating deep down inside
and i pictured you waiting patiently
for us to walk down the sands of time
together, with love lighting our path;
as my thoughts gather momentum,
the urge to break down the barrier
that i built around myself
grows stronger and stronger!
with my resolve slowly breaking down,
under the spell that my heart has found itself in
a confused mind smiles in the twilight
dreaming of a life in the darkness!
